NOW WE ALL KNOW . . . The Late President MARCOS.
Thanks to Brian Gabriel
THE PHILIPPINES (A FOOLED NATION)
I’m actually studying International Trade here in Busan . My Professor once said that one of the economic models of East Asia as well as the South during the post war era particularly in the 1960’s are based on Japan and the Philippines. He added that the Philippines is one of the richest nations next to Japan in that time and also once envied. Having said all these I was actually proud and happy seeing all my classmates of other nationalities looked at me with smiles on their faces.
But, what struck me the most is when my professor asked me, WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR COUNTRY? I couldn’t answer back. From this, I saw the sudden shift of emotions in the class. I went home having this in mind. I was quite puzzled of what really happened.
Then one day, my wife, a Korean national found a documentary about the late Pres. Marcos and his wife Imelda. He is actually very famous here in Korea and is known to be a great president.
In the documentary I saw a lot of things I couldn’t imagine happened during those days. I was surprised to see the prosperous and peaceful life the Filipinos back in those days were enjoying. I saw people wearing formal clothes (suits), a clean and magnificent city, happy people walking on the old streets of Manila, thriving communities and places everywhere and many more.
An interesting as well as quite controversial part of the documentary is the part wherein Bong Bong Marcos was interviewed. He was asked, the same question my professor asked me, WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS COUNTRY? He said, "My father loved and cared for this country a lot and my mother as well. While saying this, suddenly he paused with teary eyes and said, “We were betrayed by the Americans”. He believes that his father trusted them but they put him down. He also thinks that they used his mother’s (Imelda) lifestyle to further destroy their reputation. Though he admitted she is living an extravagant life, she also did a lot of accomplishments, Cultural Center of the Philippines, Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, Kidney Institute of the Philippines, Nayong Pilipino; Philippine International Convention Center, Folk Arts Theater, and the Coconut Palace are all Imeldas' brainchildren. Nonetheless, all major social and public buildings and institutions in the country today were actually built during the Marcos’s reign.
What inspired me the most is the time when I heard the story of the late president of Korea Park Chung Hee who visited the Philippines once in the 1960’s. Mr. Marcos and Mr. Chung Hee were believed to be good friends. Pres. Chung Hee and Marcos once visited the Radial Road 8 now called North Luzon Expressway. I heard that Mr. Chung Hee literally cried on Mr. Marcos’ shoulder saying “ I wish my country would be just like the Philippines”. Right after he came back to Korea he started a plan to create expressways similar to what he saw in the Philippines to literally connect the cities all over Korea which were divided by tall mountains. He succeeded on doing this. And, it is said that this move is one of the keys of the Korean economic boom. Unluckily, he was assassinated. Some say that the Americans were behind the assassination.
I know Marcos cared for his country a lot that he wanted to put it on the map. He even bought properties at Wall Street at that time because he wanted the Philippines to be known and dominate the world market. He also initiated a group of powerful south East Asian nations (SEATO) and is believed to have been headed by the Philippines and some countries to strengthen their economic relations further which is also one of the models of economic integrations (G2, G3,G7, ASEAN, and so on) these days. Another international diplomatic accomplishment of Mr. Marcos was the joint effort of Japan and the Philippines to form the Asian Development Bank in 1966 with headquarter in Mandaluyong. Some say that it somewhat became just like the world bank of Asia and its sole purpose is to give foreign aid to poor countries at that time. Unfortunately, the Philippines is the one receiving aid nowadays.
For me, I think Marcos is the best president the Philippines ever had. During his time the economy was at its peak, unemployment was low, peso against the dollar was at its lowest, poverty rate is not that high (compared today), in short the Philippines was at its finest.
But, not until the West came to realize that the Philippines will grow strong and powerful as time goes. Some say they were afraid it will take over the Wall Street as it already started buying properties and putting up state owned investment firms on its soil. One, thing is for sure, that they should stop this. Then it all began. They had their plan of destroying Marcos’ reputation and putting him down using the media and some manipulated social and political entities whose dark aim is to privatize Mr Marcos' nationalistic legacies. The sad part is they succeeded.
And, the saddest part is, we were fooled as well.

KUNG HINDI SI DUTERTE AT MARCOS, SINO?
Duterte taps kin of drug syndicate victims in antidrug drive
Presidential aspirant and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has assigned relatives of drug syndicate victims from Bicol to spearhead his advocacy against drugs and crime in the country, the Federalismo Alyansa ng Bicol said on Tuesday.

Duterte has designated Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption chair Dante Jimenez and former undersecretary for Bicol affairs and Masbate Vice Gov. Mario Espinosa “to spearhead his activisms” while he is campaigning for the upcoming national elections.
Jimenez and Espinosa both belong to families with members who have been killed by drug syndicates.
Jimenez and Espinosa welcomed their assignments, saying Duterte was the right kind of leader who could wage an effective campaign against drugs.
“The reason why I embrace the antidrugs advocacy is the fact that the spread of this menace should be stopped by all means; now that we have found a leader who has put at stake his reputation and life for this cause, I believe that we Filipinos should rally behind what Mayor Duterte has started,” Espinosa said.
“The only way to fight these problems on drugs, crime and corruption is by having a leader who can sustain a no-nonsense campaign against these criminal elements ruining not only the well-being of our people but the future of our country, as well,” Jimenez added.
Duterte and his running mate Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano previously vowed to wipe out drugs and crime in their first six months in office if ever elected in the upcoming polls.

Bongbong Marcos backs death penalty for drug trafficking
MANILA — While Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. believes that there is no quick fix to the country’s drug problems, he is supporting the death penalty for those involved in the illegal drug trade.
Marcos pointed out on Tuesday that solving the country’s drug problem has become complex, adding that it should be seen, not only as a police problem but as a societal problem as well.
The vice presidential hopeful, who led the oath-taking of at least 1,000 members of the We Parents organization in Pasig City, said the different sectors of society, organized in groups like the “We Parents,” should come together to help solve one of the country’s biggest problems.
“We need all sectors of society to come together, starting from the parents. [We should focus our efforts in] the values formation of the children and strengthening the Filipino family. I think the solution lies in a strong family that the child can depend on,” Marcos said.
During his speech at Barangay Maybunga’s covered court, Marcos said that “92 percent of barangays in Metro Manila have been affected by the illegal drug problem.”
“This is alarming not only because of the crime related to it but also because [drug dealers] want to prey on our children, who are our country’s future… If they will prey on our children, it’s like they’re destroying our future,” Marcos told residents of the city that was once in the limelight because of its “shabu tiangge.”
Marcos said the negative effects illegal drugs have brought to society have convinced him to support the death penalty for the traffickers.
“Because of the scale of damage they inflict [to society], I think they deserve the death penalty,” he said.

HINDI AKO MAKI MARCOS PERO BAKIT NAMUMULAT ANG ISIP KO - Bongbong Marcos . . .
Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has achieved a distinguished career in government, having served in several positions in both the executive and legislative branches of government. For the past 25 years, he has been active in public service, and has always kept his focus on serving the Filipino people.
In 2010, Bongbong won a seat in the Philippine Senate, placing seventh overall. He currently chairs the Senate Committee on Local Government and the Committee on Public Works.
In 2007, Bongbong was elected to Congress, where he was appointed Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives. During his term, he authored the Philippine Archipelagic Baselines Law (Republic Act No. 9522).
From 1998 to 2007, Bongbong served as Governor of Ilocos Norte, where he served for three consecutive terms. During his tenure, he transformed Ilocos Norte into a first-class province of international acclaim, by showcasing its natural and cultural destinations. It was also during his stewardship that Ilocos Norte pioneered wind power technology which, to this day, serves as an alternative source of energy not only for the needs of his province, but for the other parts of Luzon as well.
In 1992, Bongbong served as Congressman in the Second District of Ilocos Norte, during which he authored the law establishing the Philippine Youth Commission. He was also instrumental in advancing the cause of cooperatives by devoting most of his Countryside Development Fund (CDF) to organizing the cooperatives of teachers and farmers in his home province.
Prior to that, he served as Governor of Ilocos Norte from 1983 to 1986, a post he assumed after being elected Vice-Governor of the province in 1981.
Bongbong attended the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, USA, where he has earned units towards a Masters in Business Administration degree. He also completed his undergraduate studies in Oxford University in England graduating with a Special Diploma in Social Studies.
He is married to lawyer Louise Araneta-Marcos with whom he has three sons: Sandro, Simon, and Vincent.

ELECTION! ... IBALIK ANG MARCOS SA LIPUNAN.
MANILA, Philippines - Former senator Benigno 'Ninoy' Aquino Jr., was
assassinated in the afternoon of August 21, 1983, at the tarmac of the
Manila International Airport. His death was a pivotal moment in Philippine history, inspiring millions to take to the streets and protest the government of President Ferdinand Marcos, who would later call for a controversial snap election before fleeing the country and conceding the presidency to Aquino's wife. The successful ouster of the dictator would later be known all over the world as the People Power Revolution.
The Marcos government launched two investigations on Aquino's murder, while the new government of Corazon Aquino opened another investigation that led to the conviction of 16 suspects. Even then, speculations still remained on who really killed the staunch opposition leader, and who ordered his murder.
As the country commemorates the 31st death anniversary of Ninoy, we take a look at the people involved in the series of events surrounding his death.

An honest man speaks the truth about Pres. Marcos "Teddy Boy Locsin Jr." received much kudos in his teditorial " Bad Taste". -ANC via Pres. DAHILAN KUNG BAKIT BUMAGSAK ANG EKONOMIYA NG PILIPINAS . . .

Marcos was a visionary. He has the VISION that goes against corporatocracy and oligarchy. Yan ang dahilan kaya cia pinagtulung tulungang ibagsak.
Pag d mo gets yan, magresearch ka.
Ganito yan.. It is corporatocracy / olygarchy versus Marcos Governance. Una, umatake sila through destabilization - bomba dito, bomba dyan. Kumonista dito, ralyista dyan.
It was bloodless and peaceful despite Marcos having enough military force to put up a good fight. Usually ends up to a bloody event) sa ibang bansa pag nagkaka civil war sa kanila.
So, panalo sila. Cory became president and as a puppet, kailangan niang ibalik ang favor and dahil dyan, she followed what the loan sharks asked her to do in exchange of helping her oust Marcos para makuha nia posisyon nia. Panalo sila.
Why??? Kasi nga they have legal and valid documents to prove their innocence against the cases filed against them.
Sabi, andami daw nabawi sa mga Marcos. Nabawi ba or ninakaw??
Pagsamasamahin man mga naging proyekto nila in 27 years after Marcos, d pa nila makalahati compared sa mga projects and accomplishments nia in 20 years.
So, please.
Gising!!
Salamat sa pagbabasa.
